Wasn’t the official description that “they came away with shocking news”? Maybe the description was badly written but I took this to mean they came away with the shocking news that Reign had killed Sam’s mother and Ruby’s grandmother. You could also add in the fact they discovered Reign has Pestilence and Purity’s powers as shocking news. They went looking for one thing and came back with something else.
If there was anything shocking, I would guess they were referring to the fact that Reign has Pestilence and Purity’s powers now. They kind of addressed it, but it didn’t come across as being treated as “shocking” to me. I was more confused than anything because I was surprised they didn’t already know that because I assumed they had seen what happened after Pestilence and Purity died. They were all standing there when it happened. I suppose that maybe even if they could see the essence of their powers going into Reign that they may not have realized what that meant. I’ll have to give them a little grace on that.
