Official Description by The CW for Supergirl 2.09: “Kara is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr’s order to leave it alone. Kara takes Mon-El with her to the last place Izzy was seen and the duo find themselves thrust through a portal to another planet, Slaver’s Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves. The leader of the trafficking ring is none other than Roulette. To make matters worse, Slaver’s Moon has a red sun, which means Kara and Mon-El are stripped of their powers and stuck on the planet with no way home. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Alex blames herself for Kara’s disappearance, fearing she’s become too focused on her new relationship with Maggie and too complacent in watching out for her sister. Guest Stars include Dichen Lachman (Veronica Sinclair/Roulette), James Urbaniak (Maaldorian Doctor), Harley Quinn Smith (Izzy Williams), Ian Gomez (Snapper Carr), Robert Zen Humpage (Fish Head), David Jacox (Driver), Nick Marinos (Fists), Anthony Moyer (Knife), Francoise Robertson (Regina), Drew Tanner (Student), Erika Walter (Woman), and Nikolai Witschl (Jo Gunraf).”
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist (Kara Danvers/Supergirl), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), Mehcad Brooks (James Olsen), David Harewood (Hank Henshaw/Martian Manhunter), Jeremy Jordan (Winslow “Winn” Schott), Chris Wood (Mon-El), and Floriana Lima (Maggie Sawyer). STORY BY: Andrew Kreisberg. WRITTEN BY: Eric Carrasco and Jess Kardos. DIRECTED BY: Kevin Smith.

The yellow sun grenade was a comic book creation, seen in the Geoff Johns Superman story “The Third Krytonian”
Good to know! We’ll make sure to mention it on next week’s podcast!
Thanks for sharing!
In looking up “The Third Kryptonian”, I do find mention of the sun grenades, but it looks like it was written by Kurt Busiek?
One question I am desperate to have the Supergirl Radio gang investigate.
Why is Winn the only member of the DEO staff who doesn’t wear DEO uniforms?
Thanks for your help.
