  1. Sam says:

I didn’t read it as Mon-El having his advice to Kara flipped back on him by J’onn. I actually saw Mon-El’s advice to Kara as him talking more about himself and not her.

He was thinking that it was better to keep his feelings for her to himself rather than place the burden of them onto her. He would feel better if he told her how he felt but she would be placed in an uncomfortable and akward position as a result. At the end of the episode J’onn was just reaffirming what Mon-El had already been thinking anyway.

I actually think Mon-El’s advice to Kara didn’t make much sense and that was because he was projecting his own internal dilemma about keeping secrets onto her.

  2. J’onn says the exact same thing to Mon-El that Mon-El says to Kara so that’s why I read it that way, but I can understand your interpretation as Mon-El’s advice to Kara being more about how he needs to help things with Kara. In that case, I wonder if it is selfish for Mon-El to tell Kara that he has feelings for her after she’s done so much to get over him and accept his relationship with Imra?

  3. Joe says:

They mentioned the warehouse as being at Pacific and First. This is probab!y a reference to Pacific Comics and First Comics!

  4. Sam says:

If you have time and can be bothered rewatch that scene between Kara and Mon-El where he “advises” Kara and see if it plays differently based on what you are thinking when you watch it. If you keep in mind my suggested interpretation you might read his body language and facial expressions differently than you did the first time round.

A bit like that Brainstorm/Green Needle YouTube video where you hear whatever sound you are thinking about at the time.

  5. Sam says:

I don’t mean to keep harping on one point but to clarify what I meant if you watch the scene Mon-El is avoiding eye contact whilst giving his “advice” to Kara. He keeps looking up and down and to the side only making direct eye contact occasionally. His body language conveys a lack of sincerity(belief?certainty?) in what he is saying IMHO.

  6. Possibly! Thanks for sharing, Joe!

  7. Maybe so! Hopefully, we’ll get more clarification on what Mon-El feels/believes in future episodes!
