Another Legion of Superheroes member is coming to Supergirl! TV Line broke the news that Defiance star Jesse Rath is coming to Supergirl Season 3 as the iconic DC character Brainiac 5 who will be a recurring character.
“Half computer, half organic life and boasting a 12-level intellect, Brainiac 5 is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes who travels to National City from the 31st Century to help Supergirl and the DEO battle Reign, the villain that L-Corp CEO Samantha Arias (played by Odette Annable) is on track to becoming.”
Brainiac will make his debut in episode 10 titled “Legion of Super-Heroes” which is most likely the midseason premiere after the Christmas hiatus. Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg teased that Brainiac 5 might be more than just a friend to the Girl of Steel.
“Someone down the road will like Kara a lot, which will be a lot of fun.”
A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Amy Jackson would be coming to the show as Saturn Girl, another member of the Legion. While the character description for Saturn Girl didn’t mention any connection to the Legion, now that Brainiac 5 is coming, Saturn Girl might have a part in that group after all.
