Earlier this year, it had been reported that the producers of Supergirl wanted to bring in the world’s first Wonder Woman on to the show, Lynda Carter, in a pretty significant role, but we weren’t able to get that for the 1st season as the show was between moving to another channel and much more.
However, today the dream has come true as Warner Bros. announced that Carter will finally be coming to Supergirl for Season 2….as the President of the United States of America! She’ll be in multiple episodes throughout the season, starting with episode three – here is the full press release:
“Breaking News: Lynda Carter is Coming to Supergirl
Who wouldn’t want a former super hero as President?
Warner Bros. and The CW announced today that Lynda Carter, beloved by generations of TV viewers and DC fans as Wonder Woman in the classic television series, has been cast on Supergirl in a recurring role as the President of the United States. Carter is set to appear in multiple episodes and will first appear in the third episode of the show’s second season.
Best known for her role as the iconic hero, Lynda Carter is also an accomplished singer who has performed to rave reviews before sell-out crowds from the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC to Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. She’s also recently leant her voice to many popular video games, including this year’s Fallout 4.”
The addition of Carter as the President follows the big news of Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin being cast as the Man of Steel, Superman, in Season 2 of the series.
Supergirl Season 2 is set to premiere on Monday, October 19 at 8/7c on its new channel, The CW. Are you excited to see the legend that portrayed the Amazon Princess, come to Supergirl as the President? Let us know in the comments below!
