Joe wrote in to share some thoughts on the Supergirl season four episode titled “Will The Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?”!
Long-time listener and boy, do I have some thoughts.
Honestly, outside of misusing Alex’s adoption storyline to set her up with Kelly (hurting two potentially great stories at once), I think this was one of my favorite episodes of the season. The moment when Ben Lockwood and the Eves fighting Supergirl and Lena all seemed to have won at the same moment was well done.
Would it be nice if they didn’t give the same powers to everyone? Sure. But, you do have to consider that the Harun-El is Kryptonian, so giving its users Kryptonian powers is a more logical choice – though, I’m not sure how they used it and Kopy to give Eve powers.
I’m also glad they allowed George Lockwood to figure out how all the real problems for their family started when his father decided aliens were a problem. He took Dreamer’s speech to heart.
Kara and Lena were, hands down, the best parts of the episode and letting Kara actually wrestle with telling Lena she is Supergirl while being told how much she hates being betrayed made keeping the secret feel earned. I’m kind of not looking forward to the inevitable point when Lex tells Lena instead in order to hurt her.
