Today is CBS day at the Television Critics Association and CBS’ Supergirl is one of the shows to be there to represent the network. During the Supergirl panel, it was announced that the show will be adding some very familiar DC Comics characters with Red Tornado, Non and General Sam Lane in the early part of season one. Sam Lane is, as probably already guessed, the father of Lucy Lane who will be played by Jenna Dewan-Tatum in the third episode of the show. ‘
The general was previously played by Michael Ironside who will be playing Captain Cold and Golden Glider’s father on The Flash this fall in season two. Non is no stranger to the Super-mythology as he was featured in Superman II as one of General Zod’s (played by Terrance Stamp) allies. Red Tornado has had a big history in the DC Universe, both in the comics and on the screen, but this will be the first time that the character jumps into the world of live-action! While no casting announcements were made for these characters, we should most likely hear at least about one of them being cast before the series premiere.
Supergirl will have its series premiere on Monday, October 26 at 8:30 PM before going back to its regular time slot at 8 PM the following Monday, on CBS!
