A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Supergirl would be adding a very familiar face from the mythos to the CBS series, Lucy Lane who is the sister of Daily Planet star reporter Lois Lane. Today, multiple outlets reported that actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been cast as Lois’s little sister and will be making her debut in the third episode of season one. Dewan-Tatum is known for work such as Witches of East End, American Horror Story and The Playboy Club.
The show describes the character as a brash, funny and beautiful woman, just like her big sister Lois Lane. Lucy is strong, smart and successful in her own right. When we meet Lucy, we will see that she’s got a history with James ‘Jimmy’ Olsen (played by Mehcad Brooks) and she comes to National City because she wants to right a previous wrong. As previously reported, Lucy will be a recurring character and while it remains to be seen if this will happen, Lucy is known in the comics as one of the people to take on the identity as Superwoman. Could that happen on the show one day? Never say never.
Supergirl will have its series premiere on Monday, October 26 at 8:30 PM before going back to its regular time slot at 8 PM the following Monday, on CBS!
