Listener Email: Oblivious Kara

Nina wrote in to share some thoughts about the Supergirl season five episode titled “In Plain Sight”!

Hey you two,

Just emailing in to give my thoughts on this week’s episode. It was a bit all over the place and kind of hard to really get into. With the whole J’onn-Malefic thing, then the William Dey investigation, then Lena, then the Olsens’ thing. It was unorganized. I feel like that’s a common factor in this season so far, the premiere being the exception. The different storylines feel rushed and the only consistency is Lena and her death bot Eve being shady. James is gone and has found a new desk, which is fine with me. They’ve not known what to do with him for a long time. William is whatever at the moment, and I feel whatever happens with him is going to be too fast as well. Nia and Brainy are back together too quickly. I mean, how long did they actually have a make-up conversation for??? Like two seconds. Lena is still aggravating me. Kara is oblivious except for when it comes to William, apparently. Forget about the fact that she’s known Alex since she was 13, she can’t tell when something is truly off with “Alex.” There’s just way too many inconsistencies with this show, all the time. Like the fact that Kara beat the crap out of Superman, but needs the Guardian of all people to save her from spiderwebs, or something ridiculous like that.

Sorry this became a bit of a rant. I’m not appreciating the jumbled mess that I’ve seen so far. The only thing I’m really sure about is Hope and we did not get enough of her this episode. I mean, Hope is the best thing to happen to this show in a long time, even if she’s a tad too much like Ultron. But, I loved Ultron, so Hope is easy to get on board with. I need a Hope.

Absolutely loving the podcast and all the Hope jokes that have me laughing at work!
