Listener Email: Antepenultimate Episode

Danae sent us an email, to share some thoughts on the Supergirl season four episode titled “Will The Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?”!

Hey, Super Ladies!

What a fun antepenultimate episode! So, now that I’ve used my new favorite word, I gotta say, I am a little bit upset that this is the second episode named after Eve, but it still doesn’t say much about her. I did find her strangely sympathetic in this episode, with the “I really love you, I just love Lex more” line. I hope she can be redeemed. Andrea Brooks is such a great actress and I don’t want her to go when this storyline gets wrapped up.

Lena being so worried about Kara the whole episode was adorable so I get Kara not wanting to lose this friendship. She almost went for it with the reveal! I wanted Lena to turn around, but I don’t think it would have been the right moment for her to find out. Though, I did find it interesting how she kept her back to Kara the whole time, as if she was waiting for Kara to come out. She only turns around when Kara says that she’ll always be her friend, but before that, there is this moment where she almost turns around, but doesn’t. Anyway, I found that interesting, as if Lena did know and was just waiting for Kara to say it. I like that Kara wants to tell Lena when this is all over, but I fear it might be too late. I think that Lex or Eve or Lillian will tell Lena before Kara can, which will be extra painful because Lena will believe Kara didn’t want to tell her, just as she had decided to tell Lena.

I also liked Alex and Kelly bonding these past episodes. It seems like the show is going for a different Olsen/Danvers pairing than in season one, and personally, I am into it. I hope they can build it out a bit more, to give it more slow burn than Sanvers got.

All of the Agent Liberty stuff…I just let it fly past me. I literally don’t have the energy to deal with that storyline or how much I don’t want him to have powers. I am happy, though, that his son is seeing who his father truly is and is standing up against him. Perhaps, Alex can adopt him after this season?
