Listener Email: Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Abby wrote in with some thoughts about the Supergirl season five episode titled “Stranger Beside Me”!

I definitely think there needs to be bets on how long it will take Supergirl to get political in an episode…or drink every time someone says, “election”.

I also cannot believe that James only two options are to run for senator or be a media director. One of these things is not like the other. However, a decent number of politicians in D.C. do live in their offices during session so maybe he’s desk-house shopping as well?

For some reason, I was having déjà vu flashbacks to season three when Kara was a terrible employee to Lena during her first day at CatCo. But, as Kara says to William Deyy, she is going to do her “job with heart, integrity and well”. Hopefully, that includes being on time and actually doing work.

I hope we can see on screen Kara’s statement of it being easier that Lena knows her secret. Especially since Lena said, “[her] mother always said actions speak louder than words”. Besides giving her the watch in “Event Horizon”, how exactly has their relationship changed? (I don’t see her bringing Lena Noonan’s coffee.)

Is it a coincidence that both of Lena’s “test subjects” are called Adam and Eve? It does seem like she is trying to play the role of God, but it’s quite possible she is the snake. But, as Katie said during SDCC, Luthors play the long game.
