Listener Email: Accidental Deployment

Will sent us an email with thoughts on the Supergirl season five episode titled “Event Horizon”!

A few thoughts on a great season opener.

First, I’m unsure how Andrea can force the CatCo employees into contracts changes as seemingly happened. I’m pretty sure your boss can’t force a contract amendment on you.

You need to agree to it and sign an amended contract first. You’d think given they messed up the political law so much last season that they would get the law things right this season.

Secondly, I love how excited Kara was to have pants as part of her super suit! Though, given it deploys when she pulls off her glasses, there is a lot of potential for it to deploy accidentally. I’m picturing her tripping and falling, her glasses flying off and her suit appearing. Also, none of the Super Friends seemed to notice she was in a new suit as they didn’t react – was Kara the last one to find out about it?

Third, those VR contact lenses are very unsettling when you see people wearing them. There’s a lot of potential for accidents to occur when people are wearing them, as happens with people and phones nowadays. It seems very unsafe to wear them and walk (or make any movement whatsoever). Do you think you can be Supergirl in one of the simulations?

Finally, Ma’alefa’ak as the little girl was very creepy. I was hoping for a fight scene between Kara/J’onn and Ma’alefa’ak as the girl. Why doesn’t J’onn remember having a brother? is it because of the memory loss mentioned or is something else going on? Perhaps something his father did?

Also, as far as the crossover is concerned, I want to see a scene with Melissa’s Supergirl, Helen Slater’s Supergirl, and Erica Durance’s Lois Lane; just to see how confused Kara would be. It would be even more fun if Dean Cain’s Superman and Teri Hatcher’s Lois Lane could be there as well.

Regards,

Will

i also noticed that we never saw a single person sign those contracts andrea mentioned. that is literally the most basic thing and they even managed to mess that up. that’s a very good point about the strangeness of the fact that literally no one except lena had any reaction to kara’s new suit
