Hey everyone! Loved your commentary on Medusa. This was a good episode but everything was just tied up too neatly. Would have enjoyed watching J’onn coming to terms with becoming a white Martian. Watching David Harewood dealing with this for at least a few more episodes would truly highlight what a great actor he is and give us viewers a bit more suspense. It just seemed that everything that happened in the last eight episodes was quickly wrapped up in a nice bow and I feel some of the stories could have played out longer. And now that you mention it I don’t have much love for Mon-EL. Hopefully these aliens who seem to be after him will spice up the story. I also see him as a one season character. Also more Helen Slater please! In all I enjoyed the episode and loved seeing Barry and Cisco, but would have liked a bit more of a cliffhanger for some of the storylines to lead into the second half of the season. Thanks guys for the great commentary! Your friend Marc Lax.

  2. Hi, Marc!

I can definitely understand your problem with pacing in the first half. I’ve been struggling with how quickly the Alex/Maggie storyline has moved along and the fact that Lillian Luthor has already been seemingly put away? Hope things get a chance to breathe in the second half of Season 2.

The tease that there are aliens coming for Mon-El has my attention and I, too, hope that it leads to some good story for him.

More Helen Slater could only be a good thing! 🙂

Thank you for listening and sharing your thoughts!

The unnamed alien bar…hmm…why not make it a franchise of Bibbos!

I’m kinda late to the party, I know. But I just wanted to make a quit comment about Maggie. Although I agree that this “near death experience” cliché is boring and should be avoided, I think Maggie realized her feelings for Alex when Alex said that she didn’t come out for her, she came out to live her life. At that moment Maggie stopped being scared that she could get hurt again (as she was just dumped) because Alex accepted she was gay, it wasn’t just some crush on her that could end in tears and pain. I think Maggie shouldn’t have said “I almost died”, she should’ve started the speech with “our conversation earlier got me thinking”. Because in the end I think that’s what really happened. Am I making sense?
