  1. The initial time-slot is still relevant because of social media, that’s the only time people will be watching it together and live tweeting about it.

I’ll be kind of bummed if I have to choose between Supergirl and OUAT. As I said before, I’d like it after Gotham airs.

I like The Incredible Hulk, I still prefer that Banner to Rufflo.

I’ve never really liked Arrow, I’ve enjoyed it at times, but I feel Arrow has been pretty crappy to the comics.

I loved Gotham’s Pilot, now it seems unfocused.

Agent Carter is canceled for sure yet. Carter is a Superhero as much as Batman is or Daredevil. The show has a lot of SciFi/Diesel Punk elements.

The Pre-Crisis Supergirl constantly demonstrated herself to be pretty smart.

I saw AoU today. I liked that Ultron was very immature and insecure.

I think I already linked to this here, but I’m gonna leave it again

    • The “live-tweeting” aspect is a great point!

Also, I hope you’ve seen that Agent Carter has been given a Season 2! Huzzah! 🙂

We love our female heroes ’round here – super or not!

    Loving the podcast, ladies!

I stumbled upon it yesterday morning and really dug what you guys are doing, especially since I’ve been looking for some new intelligent and professional comics-oriented podcasts with a female point of view. Interestingly enough, later in the day it was announced that Supergirl has been served a season order, so I’m looking forward to the next episode and what you’ll have to say about that!

Another reason Candor bothers me — Kara HAD the solution that could have helped Thomas. She sold it to Batman. And forgot about it apparently…I have to re-read Way of the World, but I’m pretty sure there’s no mention of her selling that orb to Batman at all. Maybe it was another mental projection. 🙂

I’m just almost caught up on three-weeks of TV (plus all of Daredevil) so I definitely identify with the typical time-shifter. I should be caught up with Flash this weekend.
If not for DVRs / streaming, Tuesday nights alone are a bear with Flash, SHIELD, iZombie, Person of Interest, Community, etc. and so saved-up stuff is our Summer viewing too (that, and Masterchef Australia).
While I might like Supergirl to be a Summer / mid-season show just for my sanity’s sake… for the show’s sake, I hope it gets a regular programming slot. I’m excited it made it to series and my hopes are crazy high that Supergirl might be the next break-out pop-culture superhero considering the size of CBS vs. CW.
re: comics, I think this has gone beyond what I read in the original run but it’s making me interested in picking up back issues the next time my friendly local comic book store does a 25 cent back-issue sale.
    Great episode!

    • Sadly for me these days, I rely heavily on DVR. I try to watch LIVE when I can, but scheduling-wise, it can be tough.

Supergirl would be a fun summer series, but I’m hoping it gets a regular season timeslot so that the potential for crossovers with Arrow and The Flash are higher. 🙂

      Thanks for listening and commenting!

I can’t believe Supergirl is happening- so exciting! Thanks for the news updates at the top of the show- keep them coming! I was doing some research last week and found an article on Supergirl.tv that confirmed Lara, Superman’s mother, has been cast for the pilot episode of Supergirl http://supergirl.tv/lara-van-el-kal-el-s-mom-in-pilot

What kind of interaction between the House of El do you hope to see during the pilot episode? Do you think including Kara’s aunt is going to be a bit of fan service during the pilot? Or will the show creators use this opportunty to better develop Kara’s identity as a Kryptonian?

    • I know, right?! 🙂 I’m excited, too!

As for Lara being included on the show…first of all, we tend not to listen to casting rumors, and only report on things that are officially confirmed. That said, we know that Lara and Kara have a great relationship in several incarnations of the characters, so it makes sense that she would make an appearance – not just with relation to Superman, but because she is an important part of Kara’s life. I don’t think it’s fan service – it makes sense to me, and I think (well, I HOPE) that it will shed light on Kara’s character.

My one concern is that, once you in any way introduce Superman, it’s so easy for it to become a Superman show rather than a Supergirl show. I just hope they let Kara do her own thing here.
